Axfood launches new intranet based on Office 365 and Omnia
After a comprehensive project, the 10,000 employees of the Axfood Group have gained access to a new and improved intranet based on Omnia and Office 365.
The launched solution, based on Office 365 and Omnia Intranet, is not only an intranet for Axfood, but also includes intranets for the subsidiaries Tempo, Hemköp, Willys, Dagab and Snabbgross.
Omnia offers support for targeted internal communication, collaboration and social interaction and a personalized experience for end-users. The intranet is tightly integrated with a variety of Office 365 services and provisioning templates are used to orchestrate what tools are used in team collaboration.
The intranet's home pages show the latest news with local, chain-specific or group-wide focus. Users can also access external information about Axfood in social media, see press clips and sales statistics.
The solution also support publishing of critical information such as Product Alarm and Operational Information to all intranet notification panels. The solution is trimmed to provide a great mobile experience and is accessible via all internet-connected units, by all employees within the Group.

Axfood choose Precio Fishbone as their implementation partner and the project was headed by Sara Jönsson-Sandgren. She comments on the project as follows:
